The Veneto Living Lab operates in the provinces of Belluno and Vicenza. Its main objectives are based on the context of reference (i) incorporating agroforestry systems into highly natural systems to make reforested areas productive; (ii) to incorporate agroforestry systems into cultivation systems based on single-species orchards, while addressing critical issues such as achieving the right balance between organic matter in the soil and its vitality, in order to cope with the consequences of unpredictable climate.
The ‘lighthouse’ farms include an agroforestry farm with experience in market gardening and regenerative agricultural techniques, and a farm that integrates forest trees, shrubs, and horticultural crops.
